Measuring Impact and Value Added to Society (VAS)

The VAS (Value Added to Society) assesses our impact or externalities, which may be negative and result in benefits or costs not reflected in the current indicators that affect society and the environment.

What Is the VAS?

It is an impact assessment model to understand the value that Bancolombia creates for the society where we operate. It will be how we will report to our stakeholders on promoting sustainable development.

Why Do We Do It?

With the Value Added to Society, we understand how Bancolombia generates well-being with its stated purpose. We want to go beyond our management reporting, focusing on the actual well-being that our operations, products, and services generate for society while considering sustainable development, keeping our purpose in mind: We promote sustainable economic development to achieve the well-being of ALL.​​

What Is That About?

Identifying where we are adding value and generating costs (or destroying value) to society on our purpose-enabling fronts. This helps us make decisions that improve efficiency, reduce negative impacts, and increase the value generated. VAS supports decision-making by:
